Last night I was talking to Katrien over net. She is my friend from overseas, from faraway Netherlands. She said she was having an autumn holiday, much similar to ours ---- Durgapuja, Navaratri or Dusseraah, or to the British Halloween. This small piece of information brought to my mind an endless chain of associations ---- fertility cult, birth-cycle, the idea of sacrifice, myth of Kane and Abel, the idea of Sin...Modern human civilizations retained all those memories. Was it these host of memories that Jung termed collective unconscious?
